Job Summary: Ashby is a rapidly growing company seeking an Engineering leader to manage and scale their Engineering department in the Americas. The role involves overseeing a remote team of engineers fostering a unique culture and driving the growth of the team from 20 to 40 engineers over the next year. Responsibilities: • Manage a remote team of 20 engineers and 2 EMs. • Grow the team to 40 engineers and 5-6 EMs over the next year. • Work closely with the Co-Founder and VP of Engineering to scale the Engineering culture. • Build impressive products and establish the cultural norms and processes of the Engineering department. Qualifications: Required: • Experience building impressive products as an individual contributor (IC) • Experience building a team of amazing Engineers • Experience establishing cultural norms and processes of an entire Engineering department • Experience managing managers • Strong coding skills and staying up-to-date on technology • Experience leading the definition and evolution of the culture and processes of an entire Engineering department • Ability to thrive in an environment that values ownership and autonomy • Optimism about building a large engineering team that functions differently from the status quo Preferred: • Experience as a Principal Engineer or similar role • Experience in managing a remote team • Experience in scaling engineering teams Company: Ashby develops human resource software to assist companies with hiring and manpower management.
