GP Strategies Government Solutions has an opening for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist - Compliance and Employee Relations. This is a full-time benefitted remote position working EST hours. Job Summary: The HR Generalist will provide broad support to the Human Resources function for a federal contracting organization with approximately 400 U.S.-based employees. This role requires a strong focus on employee relations HR compliance and will help support enhancement maintenance and maturing of our HR system (Paylocity) ensuring the organization adheres to federal state and local employment laws as well as government contracting requirements. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with the HR Manager to address and resolve employee relations matters including conflict resolution disciplinary actions and workplace investigations ensuring timely and legally sound outcomes Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies programs and practices with a focus on consistency and compliance. Support ongoing HR compliance efforts by monitoring and ensuring adherence to federal and state employment laws including EEO FMLA ADA and wage and hour regulations. Prepare documentation such as disciplinary notices separation agreements and formal correspondence related to employee matters. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to employee relations investigations and compliance audits. Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends providing insights and recommendations to leadership. Assist with monthly virtual new hire orientations and onboarding tasks. Collaborate with the Benefits team to resolve employee inquiries and support annual open enrollment. Administer and track mandatory compliance training in the Learning Management System (LMS). Perform regular audits (I-9 personnel files etc.) and support federal and state reporting requirements such as EEO-1 OSHA logs and Maryland New Hire Registry. Build and maintain positive collaborative relationships across the organization to promote employee engagement trust and accountability. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance HR processes and operational efficiency. Provide general HR project support and perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of at least 3 years in a generalist capacity handling employee relations and HR compliance responsibilities. Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Experience conducting or supporting employee investigations and managing sensitive employee relations issues. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint). Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Prior HR experience in a federal contracting environment. Experience using Paylocity or similar HRIS platforms. Bachelor’s degree in human resources Business Administration or a related field. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS General physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on location of assignment.
