Delivering major high-leverage software capabilities is no longer the work of single isolated squads instead it demands seamless coordination dependency management and flawless alignment across multiple engineering product design and data science teams. Without dedicated operational guidance complex cross-functional initiatives face risks of misalignment fragmented tracking delayed releases and administrative overhead on engineering leadership. The Technical Project Manager (TPM) role is established within the Product Operations sub-department to resolve these challenges. By serving as the operational connective tissue across squads the TPM ensures that multi-team technical programs are planned with rigor executed with agility and delivered with predictability. This role is essential for accelerating program velocity resolving structural friction points and keeping our R&D teams highly aligned with overall business outcomes and customer success. The Technical Project Manager is a dynamic highly visible execution leader within impact.com's Product & Technology division. Reporting directly to the Senior Director Product Operations this individual takes end-to-end operational ownership of cross-functional technical programs from inception to post-launch evaluation. The TPM is a ""player-coach"" of process and program execution. They act as a trusted partner to engineering managers product leads and UX designers using Agile and Scrum methodologies to keep highly complex multi-team efforts on track. This role requires a unique combination of sharp organizational instincts deep communication skills and technical credibility—allowing you to engage deeply with engineers on architecture APIs and system dependencies. Additionally this role champions modern operations by actively leveraging generative AI tools to maximize personal productivity streamline documentation and continuously mature the wider TPM playbook.

What You'll Do

Program & Delivery Management (40%) End-to-End Delivery Own the execution of complex multi-team technical programs ensuring they progress predictably from early scoping and dependency mapping through launch and stabilization. Agile Orchestration Drive agile program ceremonies coordinate cross-squad sprint reviews organize program-level syncs and facilitate joint retrospectives. Tracking & Documentation Establish and maintain high hygiene standards for project tracking in Jira (boards epics sprint mapping and active dependency links) and structured accessible documentation in Confluence. Risk & Blocker Mitigation Proactively identify track and resolve scope creep resource constraints technical blockers and team-to-team dependencies before they impact the critical path. SLA & Reporting Define program milestones establish success metrics and own the communication of progress health and risk profiles to R&D and business leadership.

  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Alignment (30%) Connective Tissue Serve as the primary operational link bridging Engineering Product Design Data and go-to-market/customer-facing business teams. Communication Governance Author and execute comprehensive stakeholder communication plans ensuring alignment on project changes escalation paths and key decision logs. Trade-off Facilitation Host and guide trade-off discussions when squads face conflicting priorities resource constraints or architectural friction points presenting structured data-driven options to leaders. Resource Balance Collaborate with engineering managers and product leads to ensure sprint commitments sensibly balance new feature delivery tech debt reduction and operational support.
  • Process Maturity & Continuous Improvement (20%) Agile Enablement Coach and support engineering squads of varying maturity levels helping them refine their local Scrum/Kanban practices to improve flow and cycle time. Objective Post-Mortems Run blame-free retrospectives and post-mortems following major releases or system-layer issues translating takeaways into immediate process updates. TPM Practice Development Actively contribute to building the internal TPM practice by developing shared templates delivery playbooks and standardized metric dashboards.
  • Technical Literacy & Modern AI Productivity (10%) AI-Powered Workflows Actively utilize modern generative AI tools (such as Claude ChatGPT Cursor or Copilot) to accelerate daily tasks—such as synthesizing documentation drafting clear stakeholder communications and automating administrative program tracking. Technical Engagement Build a strong working knowledge of impact.com's system architectures APIs and cloud infrastructure patterns to credibly challenge timelines identify technical risks and participate in scoping discussions with technical leads. Owned KPIs and Outcomes North Stars Cross-functional programs are delivered predictably on scope and with high transparency across R&D and GTM teams. Multi-team dependencies are identified and resolved proactively minimizing critical-path slippage and structural friction. Program & Delivery Metrics Milestone Predictability Achievement rate of critical program milestones and target launch windows. Time-to-Resolution for Blockers Speed and effectiveness of clearing cross-team blockers and resource constraints. Stakeholder Sentiment Positive alignment and communication satisfaction scores from collaborating squads and product partners. Operational & Hygiene Metrics Jira & Confluence Health Accuracy and completeness of epic definitions dependency linkages active decision logs and release plans. Retrospective Action Rate The speed at which retro-identified improvement items are actioned and implemented in future sprints. Cycle Time reduction Measurable improvement in delivery velocity for multi-squad initiatives through refined dependency planning. What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications

Experience 5+ years of dedicated technical project or program management experience within a fast-paced software development or technology environment. Program Execution Proven track record of successfully guiding complex multi-team programs with interdependencies from initiation to global launch. Agile Mastery Deep command of Agile/Scrum methodologies with the practical ability to adapt frameworks to fit squad-specific maturity and organizational contexts. Tooling Expertise Advanced hands-on experience utilizing Jira (roadmaps cross-team boards reporting) and Confluence to manage complex documentation. Technical Literacy Ability to understand technical architectures API integrations and system infrastructure well enough to engage credibly with staff engineers and architects. AI Tool Integration Demonstrated experience using AI productivity tools (e.g. Cursor Copilot ChatGPT Claude) to accelerate personal output draft communications or synthesize technical data. Communication Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of translating complex technical states into concise clear updates for executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications Project Management Professional (PMP) Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent professional project management credentials. Advanced Technology Exposure Familiarity with LLM-based product workflows prompt engineering RAG pipelines or model fine-tuning processes. SaaS Environment Prior experience navigating a rapidly scaling B2B SaaS platform or multi-sided marketplace business model. Infrastructure Context High-level understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) CI/CD pipelines and microservices. Practice Building Experience helping to build or mature a TPM function project management office or shared delivery playbook from the ground up. Salary Range $150000 - $180000.00 per year plus an additional 5% variable annual bonus contingent on Company performance and eligible to receive a Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant. This is the pay range the Company believes is equitable for this position at the time of this posting.
