What You’ll Do Provide dynamic one-to-one virtual counseling to students via Zoom through individualized college counseling packages. Teach virtual credit-bearing courses focused on post-secondary exploration and college planning using Canvas. Mentor students as they explore diverse post-secondary pathways including 4-year universities 2-year colleges gap years technical programs apprenticeships the military and direct-to-career options. Utilize platforms like SCOIR and YouScience to help students identify their strengths interests and career goals. Review academic records—including transcripts and GPAs—to advise students on course planning and admission strategies. Guide college-bound students and families through the entire application process including platform navigation (Common App UC CSU ApplyTexas CUNY/SUNY Coalition) test planning essay development financial aid awareness and counselor recommendations. Support students pursuing non-college pathways with resume writing interview preparation and workforce readiness skills. Collaborate with a nationwide team of Post-Secondary Counselors (PSCs) to support over 80 Fusion Academy campuses and Fusion Global Academy. Effectively manage multiple systems such as Canvas Salesforce SCOIR Zoom and Microsoft Outlook/Teams to track progress and maintain strong communication with your colleagues and caseload. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in school counseling college counseling or college admissions. Master’s degree or higher in School Counseling Education Educational Psychology or a related field. Extensive knowledge of U.S. and international college admissions including multiple application platforms (Common App Scoir UC SUNY Coalition etc.). Familiarity with diverse post-secondary pathways such as gap years vocational training and apprenticeships. Experience supporting neurodivergent learners and students with learning differences including ADHD. Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to guide students and families through each stage of the college process. Warm student-centered approach—empathetic proactive and adaptable. Excellent relationship-building skills able to foster trust and engagement in a virtual environment. Collaborative and self-directed with the ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive nationwide team. Demonstrates resilience professionalism and compassion in fast-paced or high-stress situations. Flexible availability between 8:30 EST - 5:30 EST to work with students is preferred. The FFSP serves active duty members of the Navy Marine Corps Army and Air Force plus their eligible family members active duty members of foreign military services who are stationed in the area reserve military personnel and their family members when they are eligible for military medical care military members designated as severely wounded ill and injured and their identified caretakers and on a space available basis military retirees and their family members and widows eligible family members of military decedents and other groups as directed and authorized by higher authorities in response to special circumstances. The Clinical Counselor shall provide a variety of counseling services for FFSP critical incident counseling and advocacy services for individuals families and groups. The Clinical Counselor will provide assessment and short-term solution focused counseling services to eligible individuals marital or intimate partners families and/or groups. The scope of practice for the Clinical Counselor is limited to counseling services for other conditions that may be a focus of clinical attention and adjustment disorders. They will ensure referral for appropriate behavioral health follow-up of any psychological disorders or symptoms requiring longer-term and/or medical/psychiatric intervention and coordinate and manage specialized assessment and intervention services. The Headquarters Remote Clinical Counselor will provide surge support to warfighters and their families (telephonically through an authorized online virtual platform and in-person on the shore or in an afloat deployed environment) Navy-wide. Surge support should only occur after consultation with the CNIC Headquarters Family Readiness Program Director (or their designee) coordination with the region and command needing surge support and the approval of the COR. Document and maintain current records in the FFSMIS Clinical Counseling Record System for all non-medical counseling assessment and counseling services provided IAW current Navy requirements. Ensure all non-medical counseling information and referral and one-on-one consultation not resulting in clinical assessment are entered and counted in FFSMIS. Ensure staff delivering non-medical counseling services are accounting for all services delivered in scheduling module in FFSMIS. Participate in emergency response exercises carried out by the Region Installation or FFSP. Execute Emergency Family Assistance Center assigned responsibilities as exercised and directed. Ensure that all information and referral individual consultation and group education services related to Emergency Preparedness and Response are entered and counted in required systems. Qualifications Required Skills and Knowledge Minimum professional qualifications include a current valid and unrestricted clinical license or certification from a state or U.S. territory authorizing independent clinical practice in the fields of professional counseling clinical social work marriage and family therapy or clinical/counseling psychology.
