Learn more at https://www.pano.ai/.  The Role As a Senior / Principal Product Designer at Pano AI you will own the design of one of our most critical product areas: the Alerts experience. Alerts are the front line of how our customers derive value from Pano — they must be clear actionable and defensible in environments where seconds and accuracy matter.The Senior / Principal Product Designer will be the first dedicated design leader on the Alerts squad responsible for shaping both strategy and execution. You’ll partner with a highly engaged PM a team of engineers and cross-functional leaders to reduce alert fatigue strengthen customer trust and design systems that directly help communities detect and respond to wildfires faster.This role offers more than just design ownership. As a Senior / Principal Product Designer you’ll gain direct visibility with executives including the CEO and influence how Pano’s technology impacts the world. Unlike many SaaS design roles this position gives you end-to-end ownership of a high-stakes product area where your work will have a measurable impact on public safety climate resilience and the way critical infrastructure is protected. ➡ What you’ll do ➡ Lead design strategy and execution for the Alerts squad filling a critical gap as the team’s first dedicated designer.Collaborate closely with PMs engineers legal and executives to define and deliver end-to-end customer experiences.Translate complex user needs into clear flows information architecture and notification logic systems that balance early detection with reducing false positives.Conduct user research with dispatchers fire agencies and other stakeholders to inform design decisions and reduce “alert fatigue.”Design in Figma across interaction information and visual design prototyping and coding skills are a plus.Present and defend design decisions to executives ensuring they are backed by research and aligned with business and legal considerations.Shape and evolve the Alerts experience into a more relevant defensible and trustworthy system for customers.Balance tactical delivery with strategic systems thinking prioritizing the highest-impact opportunities for improvement. Who you are ➡ 8+ years of product or UX design experience with a strong portfolio of end-to-end ownership in fast-paced environments.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design HCI or related field (or equivalent experience).Strong systems thinker with expertise in interaction information and visual design proficient in Figma.Comfortable operating at multiple altitudes—from detailed execution to strategic long-term design decisions.Confident presenting to executives and skilled at navigating cross-functional priorities across product engineering and legal.Customer-obsessed and empathetic focused on creating solutions that reduce friction build trust and deliver clear value.Experience with alerting notification or adjacent SaaS products (PagerDuty Sentry Nest Ring etc.) is highly valuable but not required.Motivated by mission-driven work excited to design technology that saves lives and strengthens climate resilience. Job Description This is a senior individual contributor role for a designer who excels in strategic problem solving product design execution and cross-functional influence. You’ll take ownership of high-priority initiatives partnering closely with product managers engineers and business stakeholders to create intuitive scalable user experiences that align with both client needs and business goals. You’ll serve as a thought partner to the CPO and senior product leadership helping shape how design influences product strategy You’ll be instrumental in shaping how AI shows up in our product and how it enhances our internal design and development practices. Your work will influence the client journey across all touchpoints with a particular focus on systems thinking user trust and simplicity in complex workflows. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of end-to-end product experiences across our payments platform with a focus on high-leverage high-complexity areas. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deeply understand client needs business context and technical constraints. Develop and refine user flows wireframes working wireframes and high-fidelity designs using modern tools and rapidly iterating with stakeholders. Leverage AI and generative tools to explore interaction models and increase design velocity bringing creative thinking to how AI is embedded in our product. Conduct lightweight research and validation either independently or in partnership with product teams to ground your decisions in user evidence. Define contribute to and evolve our design system and standards ensuring visual and interaction consistency across surfaces while championing best practices in UX accessibility and usability. Present design strategy and execution clearly to executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners driving alignment and action. Working with ProductOps define and evolve the design intake and collaboration processes that ensure timely high-quality design involvement across the product development lifecycle. Act as a mentor and coach to other designers and cross-functional peers modeling high-quality thinking craft and collaboration Qualifications 10+ years of experience designing digital products with increasing scope and complexity ideally in B2B or fintech environments. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and influence product direction in cross-functional settings. Deep expertise in UX/CX and interaction design coupled with a sharp visual design sensibility. Strong systems thinker who can abstract complexity and design intuitive solutions across multiple surfaces and user types. AI fluency: familiarity with current design tools and a clear POV on how AI can enhance product UX/CX and workflow. Familiarity with front-end frameworks and design system integration processes. Experience working independently and navigating ambiguity able to align cross-functional teams without relying on hierarchy or formal authority. Clear persuasive communication skills for articulating design rationale and engaging stakeholders across disciplines and levels. Nice to Have Background in payments compliance-heavy industries or enterprise SaaS. Experience working on extensible platforms or configurable enterprise products.
