The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with manual testing in a federal government client environment. This customer-facing role will be instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction. This position will be fully remote within the United States. Responsibilities We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with government contracting experience. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience a strong understanding of Amazon Webservices (AWS) Jira and X-Ray is a plus. Develop publish and implement test plans for complex multi-tier distributed applications throughout the full lifecycle. Develop manual or automated testing systems using commercial tools scripts and data set. Participates in all aspects of testing including functional regression load and system testing. Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software or hardware development process has an appropriate level of testing. Develops response strategies and processes for high-criticality and security vulnerability related bug notifications. Pro-actively investigates and finds potential security holes and attack vectors within both the existing and newly developed code base. Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Working in iterative development cycles with cross-functional teams. Communicate effectively with federal clients developers and program managers. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field. 5-8 years of experience in IT 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education Experience with Jira X-ray AWS Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies specifically Kanban. The Senior Software QA Engineer will also: Collaborate with the Product to understand user stories Engineering to understand Architecture and Design and Operations to understand business workflows. Train and mentor Software Quality Engineers on testing concepts tools and processes. Work alongside other Software Quality Engineers performing hands-on testing creating test automation and debugging. Develop a deep understanding of the business objectives and requirements of NBCU’s products. Conduct testing on one or more projects determining the appropriate automation approach. Communicate with project management teams to understand features requirements and releases. Develop tests that meet functional and performance requirements and satisfy user acceptance criteria. Follow existing best practices and provide recommendations for improvement. Perform peer reviews of tests or scripts that other team members build. Confirm user stories and requirements are met. Ensure defects are quickly and clearly communicated. Anticipate and raise potential issues that impact quality or delivery. Keep current with new technologies and testing tools. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science Engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience with software testing and creating test automation Experience leading teams with onshore and offshore team members Java programming experience Experience utilizing testing frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver JUnit TestNG Playwright and/or Cypress. Experience testing REST APIs Experience testing databases and writing advanced queries Experience with issue and test management tools such as Jira or QMetry Experience working with code version control tools Experience integrating tests into a CI/CD pipeline Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience working/using technical documentation such as Architecture Diagrams Workflow & Process Diagrams and API documentation.
